Author Visits & Guest Speaker
Visiting children’s book author brings history to life.
Thank you for your interest in my work as a Visiting Author in schools. I am available for author programs for all levels, (elementary, middle and high school) and for special events like National Book Week. Presentations can be a few hours, half day, or full day events with special visits to individual classrooms for tailor-made presentations and more personal question and answer sessions.
When schools invite me, we work together to tailor an exciting program to meet your needs.
The program options you choose will address the New York State standards for the English Language Arts core Curriculum.
In addition, the presentation can coordinate with the Social Studies Standard for the US and NY State History.
A program can include readings from my book, exploration of research techniques including archival sources, a discussion of my original watercolor illustrations, a short student-centered writing and sharing activity, and a craft as it relates to the colonial period and the American Revolution.
The presentation can be followed by questions and book signing.
Guest Speaker at Organizations
I present and speak at libraries and book clubs, Historical Society meetings, club functions, writer’s circles, and church activities. I also do author signings at bookstores and other venues.
If your organization can’t afford the expense of my coming to you, I can prepare a Web Chat which can include a presentation followed by a question and answer session. All we need is the correct technology.
